Elevator Pitch
Description
The classic elevator pitch in virtual format. Great for personal introductions, personal branding, pitching ideas, or pitching products.
Why we like it
A diverse activity that allows pitches from individuals or groups as well as feedback and evaluation from individuals or groups.
Process
1. Give instructions and time limits. Appointing a time-keeper and evaluator(s) is a wise idea. Evaluations done on Google Forms or Typeform create feedback that can be sent to individual speakers, groups, or facilitator.
2. Send groups to breakout rooms to give elevator pitches.
3. Ask evaluators to prepare notes and give feedback, or record feedback for sharing later.
Daisy chain options
a) Ask groups to select a speaker to share their elevator pitch with the main room.
b) Have evaluators or group spokespeople report back to the main room with an overview of ideas or skills from their room.
c) Record elevator pitches for future skill progress reflection and feedback.
d) Use this activity as part of ongoing group projects. For example, have individuals pitch ideas to their group for group topic consideration.
Variations
a) Use this activity for module review sessions: Selected individuals pitch the key takeaways from the module.
b) Elevator pitches can be done as group pitches with groups present in the main room or with other groups in breakout rooms.
c) Run a World Cafe where groups rotate breakout rooms but the speaker stays in the same breakout room to deliver their pitch to each rotating group.
