Group Storytelling
Description
Groups work together to create and tell a collaborative story.
Why we like it
This cooperative activity is easy to do on the spot, and it can incorporate elements from storytelling programs, presentation programs, and collaboration programs.
Process
1. Give participants any instructions and logistics needed such as an example story, time limits, storytelling structures, etc.
2. Break teams into breakout rooms to construct their shared story. A shared whiteboard for typing or images is recommended. If needed, give participants time to rehearse their story.
3. Back in the main room, groups tell their stories.
4. Add any evaluation or feedback (from facilitator or participants) as needed.
Daisy chain options
a) Record or transcribe stories for deeper analysis or review.
b) Continue to build or enhance stories after a round of feedback.
c) Add visual aids during story presentation.
Variations
Groups tell their stories in World Cafe fashion.
