Q&A Feedback Board

ongoing, varies, easy.png

Description

Create a virtual space for ongoing questions, answers, and feedback which allows participants to jot ideas anytime and the facilitator to check ideas anytime.

Why we like it

Physical Q&A and feedback boards in physical workshops are great. They can be anonymous and allow participants to record ideas at any moment. Recreating these long-term boards in virtual sessions provides the same benefits. Questions can be answered anytime (on the board or vocally) and the facilitator gets instant feedback about what’s going well (or not).

Process

1. Create an online space for Q&A and another space for feedback. These spaces should be accessible to participants at any time. A simple shared Google document works. Both Miro and Mural’s sticky notes functions work excellently.

2. For Q&A, write answers next to questions during unmonitored activities or breaks. Alternatively, check the board as a group after activities and breaks and address questions as needed.

3. For feedback, some feedback might require immediate attention, discussion, or changes in plans. Other feedback can be noted and saved by the facilitator. Keep in mind, everyone can see feedback on shared boards.

4. Consider asking all participants to leave a question or feedback before leaving for break. Reminders and encouragement to use the board allows them to interact and know their ideas are listened to and considered.
